I. System requirements
For Magento requirements, you check here http://www.magentocommerce.com/system-requirements .
To use our Magento extensions, you must have Magento versions from 1.5 to 1.8.
Sources Available: .HTML; .PSD;.PHP;.XML;.CSS;.JS
Software Required: Adobe Photoshop CS+;
Adobe Dreamweaver 8+ (or any php-editor);
For uncompressing a template ZIP package:
WinZip 9+ (Windows);
Stuffit Expander 10+ (Mac);
II. How To Install Magento Mega Menu Extension
Firstly, you download Magento Mega Menu package, unzip it. You will see folders as below
You have two options to install the package.
1. Option 1: Install Quick Start Packages
You will use the file "nbm_mag_megamenu_1.0.0.tgz"
Step 1: On the Admin Panel, you go to System → Magento Connect → Magento Connect Manager.
Step 2: In "Magento Connect Manager", go to "Direct package file upload".
Click "Browse" to locate files on your system, choose file: nbm_mag_megamenu_1.0.0.tgz and upload it.
Step 3: The extension or theme has been successfully installed. Click "Refresh".
2. Option 2: Upload Magento extension via FTP
- Unzip the file nbm_mag_megamenu_1.0.0.zip
- Upload the extension directory contents to your Magento root directory via FTP (you can use FileZilla, cuteFTP …)
II. How To Use Mega Menu Extension
1. Mega Menu settings
Firstly, set up Main Menu for Mega Menu with such attributes as Home Color, Menu Width,
Width Thumbnail Category, Height Thumbnail Category, Show Home Link.
Step 1: Refresh all cache in “Cache Management”, Reindex all data in “Index Management”.
Step 2: On your Admin Panel page, click on System → Configuration
Step 3: After accessing Configuration interface, you will go to Mega Menu on the column at the left hand.
Here, you customize options as you want before saving it.
Step 4: Change values in fields of the “Mage Menu”
• Enabled: has two values
o “Enabled” to enable Slideshow Home
o “Disable” to disable in
• Show Home Link: Show Home in menu top
• Width menu: Width menu top.
On your site, the display will appear like this
2. Categories Settings for Mega Menu
You want to create a variety of categories in the Mega Menu, here are what you will do
Step 1: On your "Magento Admin Panel", you will choose "Catalog", then go to "Manage Categories"
Step 2: In order to create sub-categories of the Default Category which you can change its name, you will firstly click on
"Default Category", then "Add SubCategories" (on the top of your left hand), which will open "New Subcategory"
Step 3: On the tab "General Information" , you will add any information you want, but on the fields which are marked red,
you can’t left them blanks (Name, Is Active, Include in Navigation Menu).
Step 4: On "Display Settings", choose Yes for the field "Is Anchor". Other options can be customized.
Step 5: On "Custom Design", choose Yes at the first field "Use Parent Category Settings"
Then, "Save Cateogry"
3. Blocks Settings for Mega Menu
If you have any promotion events or featured products that you want to highlight them on the front page, you will be able to create blocks
in the Mega Menu.
Step 1: On your "Magento Admin Panel", go to the tab CMS, choose "Static Blocks".
Step 2: On your right hand, click on the tab "Add New Block"
Step 3: "New Block" interface will be opened, fill in all the fields, then you
"Save Block" or "Save and Continue Edit" (on top of your right hand)
4. Menu Top Settings
Menu Top settings allow you to customize blocks, featured products, thumbnail images, background, colors, according to separate
categories in Mega Menu.
Step 1: On your "Magento Admin Panel", go to Catalog, choose "Manage Categories", select any categories that you created,
then go to "Menu Top"
Step 2: Perform all actions you need in the section
Step 3: Save Category
