I've taken over maintaining a site that used to be VM 2.x site and have rewritten the old photoupload plugin so that it works in VM3. Unfortunately this is really hacked but it works as intent. When VM3 came out i could not find this plugin. now. I need to know if it is possible to generate
1) PDF frontpage preview (if filetype pdf is allowed)
2) force users to upload BEFORE they can put stuff in cart
3) Is the plugin required to be in the layout position addtocart or can i put it in my own layout position(potentially outside the product

You should update to VM3.
1) PDF front page preview (if file type pdf is allowed)
=> Yes, the file type pdf is allowed.
2) force users to upload BEFORE they can put stuff in cart
=> Currently, it does not support this feature. However, if you want we can make a customization for you.
3) Is the plugin required to be in the layout position add to cart or can i put it in my own layout position(potentially outside the product )
=> the position of displaying is customfield which is above quantity & addtocart.

1) Is it possible to show a pdf PREVIEW image from the first page in that pdf?
2) Okay. How much would such a customization cost? I've already have this on the old plugin. But will future updates of the plugin include these customizations? or how does future update integrate with this?
