If the url includes category and/or item, does the sso process return the user to that category or item page once it completes or just the store home page?

Purchased and testing Magento theme 50378 from TemplateMonster. Includes Ajax Cart which works very nicely until we activate using secured urls in front end. When browser is on a HTTPS page (checkout etc) Update and Remove etc functions on drop down Ajax cart are blocked because they access unsecured HTTP scripts/pages. This must be a well known issue and therefore hope you have an obvious answer. Are you able to assist please. Thank you,David
