To migrate from Ecwid to WooCommerce without losing SEO, we read your products, variants, customers and orders through the Ecwid API, keep each product's slug and SEO fields, and map every old store URL to its new address in a 301 CSV you approve before launch. We test on staging, then watch crawl errors for 30 days. Quoted after assessment.

In short
How do you migrate from Ecwid to WooCommerce without losing SEO?
Built on WooCommerce, so the store is yours and not a widget on someone else's platform.
Key facts: Ecwid to Cmsmart Ecommerce
Scope
Ecwid products, variants, customers, orders and URLs, moved to a WooCommerce store on Cmsmart Ecommerce.
What you keep
Catalogue and images, customer accounts and addresses, order history as read-only records, page titles and descriptions, and a 301 for every old URL.
Typical inputs
An Ecwid API access token or the store's export files, your list of Ecwid apps and marketplace channels, and the list of pages that carry the Ecwid store.
Deliverables
A data map, a redirect CSV you approve, a staging store, a QA check, the cut-over and a 30-day watch.
How pricing works
Quoted per project after a free assessment. There is no price list and no obligation.
The same five steps for every store: you approve the data map and the redirect CSV before the cut-over.
Why merchants move
Why merchants leave Ecwid
The factors we hear most, stated fairly. Where a source link is shown, it is the platform's own page, read on 10 October 2026.
The store lives inside another site
Ecwid adds a store to an existing website, and its catalog pages are built dynamically. The address format depends on the host site and on which URL features are switched on.
On a custom website the default catalog URL includes a hashbang and a numeric ID. A shorter format needs the Clean Store URLs option to be switched on, so a store can serve more than one URL style over its life.
Ecwid's own site builder, Instant Site, offers templates, content blocks and a free company.site address or a connected domain. Merchants who want a fully custom theme are pointed to the developer docs.
The features page describes connecting Ecwid with Lightspeed Retail POS to sell online and in store. A merchant with no point of sale may not use that part.
You approve the redirect CSV before launch, so every old address has a destination.

Export method
How your Ecwid data gets out
Ecwid's REST API v3 returns products, product variations, customers, orders and product reviews as JSON, one hundred items per request with offset paging, so a large catalogue is read in repeated runs. We use your API access token for the read. The admin-panel CSV export could not be checked because Ecwid's help centre blocked our read-only fetch, so we confirm it in the assessment.
Products: titles, descriptions, SKUs, images, SEO title, SEO description and slug.
Variations: Ecwid product combinations, mapped to WooCommerce variable products.
Customers and orders: accounts, addresses and order history, imported as read-only history.
Reviews: product reviews are available through the API and are imported.
Pages: Instant Site pages can be listed through the API; layouts are rebuilt, not copied. A blog export is not documented, so blog posts are checked in the assessment.
Protecting your search listings when you leave Ecwid
We cannot promise rankings or traffic. These are the steps that protect what can be protected.
Product records expose the slug, SEO title and SEO description, and category records expose a slug, so we read them and keep the slug where the WooCommerce address pattern allows it.
Collect every address the old store serves: on a custom website the catalog may use the hashbang style or the Clean Store URLs style, so we list URLs from your storefront pages and Search Console before mapping them.
Map every old address to its new one in a redirect CSV, which you approve before launch.
Re-create the XML sitemap and submit it, then compare indexed pages with the migrated catalogue.
Watch crawl errors and redirects for 30 days after cut-over.
What gets rebuilt
What is rebuilt on Cmsmart Ecommerce
Some things cannot be copied, so they are rebuilt and tested.
The storefront theme, designed on a Cmsmart Store preset or built to your brand.
Apps and extensions, replaced by Cmsmart modules (product designer, price calculator, file upload, artwork approval, B2B) or a matching WooCommerce plugin.
Integrations: payments, shipping, tax, email, ERP and CRM, rebuilt and tested against your real list.
Custom logic, such as special pricing or order rules, built as scoped custom development.
After you move
What you gain on Cmsmart Ecommerce
Built on WooCommerce, so you own your store. Cmsmart adds the parts a personalised or printed product business needs, and runs them for you if you want.
We cannot promise rankings or traffic. We build a redirect map from every old URL to its new one, carry over titles and descriptions, submit an XML sitemap and watch crawl errors for 30 days after launch.
Can customer passwords be migrated?
Ecwid's API does not return customer passwords, so customers set a new password with a reset email. We send the reset invitation as part of the cut-over plan.
How long does the migration take?
The timeline is set in the free assessment. It depends on catalogue size, order history and integrations, so we do not quote a standard duration.
Will my store go offline?
Your current store keeps selling while we build and test on a staging store. Only the final cut-over, a data sync and a DNS switch, needs a short planned window.
Can my current apps be replaced?
Apps from the Ecwid App Market and automations built on Ecwid webhooks depend on the Ecwid API. Each is mapped to a Cmsmart module or a WooCommerce plugin, and anything with no equivalent is quoted as custom development.
What does it cost?
Migration is quoted per project after the free assessment, because it depends on your data, apps and integrations. We do not publish prices.
Can you migrate orders and reviews?
Orders move as read-only history with status and totals, and payments are never charged again. Reviews move when the platform lets us export them.
Do I need to know WooCommerce?
