Applies to Cmsmart Product Designer (formerly NBDesigner) 2.18.0-dev, WP Admin > Cmsmart > Clients (Customer CRM, added in 2.10.0) · Updated October 2026. Screens below are from the live nbdesigner.cmsmart.net demo store; every customer name and email you see is masked test data, not a real buyer.

In short

  • Cmsmart > Clients turns every guest checkout, registered account and quote request into one searchable, segmented customer list — no spreadsheet, no exports to keep in sync.
  • It resolves identity across your WooCommerce orders and design activity, scores each contact into a lifecycle segment (Lead, Open quote, New, VIP, At-risk, Dormant…), and gives you a one-click Win-back, Send quote or Thank/upsell action per row.
  • It needs no setup: the list builds itself from orders and quotes you already have, and the filtered view exports to CSV whenever you need it.

A print shop customer list WooCommerce workflow usually means three spreadsheets, two inboxes and a Post-it note of who still owes a deposit. Cmsmart Product Designer's Clients screen replaces that with one live list pulled straight from your orders, quotes and design activity — searchable, segmented and ready to export the moment you need it.

Why a manual print shop customer list WooCommerce spreadsheet costs you sales

Cmsmart Product Designer's Clients screen replaces the manual print shop customer list WooCommerce spreadsheet with one view built from orders you already have, so a print shop, POD brand or B2B supplier always knows who to call back before a competitor does.

Most WooCommerce stores running a print or custom-product business end up tracking customers in three places at once: the WooCommerce order list, a spreadsheet someone keeps "just in case," and whatever the inbox search can dig up. That gap shows up as real cost, even when nobody puts a number on it:

  • A guest checkout and a registered account from the same person look like two different customers, so nobody spots the repeat buyer.
  • An open print quote sits for a week because the person who promised to "follow up tomorrow" moved on to the next order.
  • A client who hasn't ordered in a year gets no win-back message, because nobody is tracking who has gone quiet.
  • Staff re-key the same order history into a CRM or spreadsheet by hand, every single week.

Across more than 12,000 online stores, repeat customers make up only 21% of the customer base but generate 44% of revenue and 46% of orders (Gorgias, 2025). If your store can't easily tell a repeat wholesale buyer from a one-time guest checkout, that's the slice of revenue you're least equipped to protect.

What does good customer tracking look like for a growing print shop?

With Cmsmart Product Designer, a print shop owner opens one Clients screen, filters to the segment that needs attention — Open quote, At-risk, Dormant — and acts on it directly, instead of reconstructing customer history from orders and emails each morning.

Example scenario: A print shop owner opens Cmsmart > Clients before the shop floor opens, filters to At-risk, sends two win-back messages, then switches to Open quotes and follows up on three pending print quotes — all before the first coffee, with no spreadsheet in sight.

Cmsmart insight: In most print shop and POD rollouts we see, the Open quote and Cart pending tabs get checked first each morning — those are buyers who already told you what they want, not cold traffic you have to win over.

How does Cmsmart's Clients screen organize your WooCommerce customers?

Cmsmart Product Designer's Clients screen (Sales → Clients) resolves guest and registered WooCommerce orders, quotes and design activity into one customer index, scored into lifecycle segments, so you work from one list instead of cross-referencing three.

The screen opens on a set of stat cards — Total, Leads, Open quote, New (30d), At-risk and VIP — for a one-glance read on the health of your customer base, with an Export button in the header for the whole filtered list.

Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.0-dev, WP Admin > Cmsmart > Clients: the stat-card header and CSV Export button. Customer counts shown are demo-store data.

Below the cards, a row of segment tabs narrows the whole list to one lifecycle stage: All, Leads, Open quotes, Cart pending, Design abandoned, New, Active, Returning, VIP, At-risk and Dormant. A toolbar underneath adds Search (name/email), Sort, Channel, Type and Tag filters, plus Filter and Reset buttons.

Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.0-dev, WP Admin > Cmsmart > Clients: segment tabs and the search/sort/channel/type/tag filter bar.

The table itself lists Customer, Type (Guest or Registered), Channels (order, quote, design, upload tags showing how that person has interacted with your store), Seg, Orders, Spend, Files, Last order and a context-aware Next action.

Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.0-dev, WP Admin > Cmsmart > Clients: the Seg, Files and Next columns, zoomed in.

Cmsmart insight: A single warning badge in the Files column is worth more attention than a long order history — it usually means Cmsmart Cloud flagged a print-ready file that needs a second look before it reaches production.

Clicking a customer's name opens that person's client detail record. We weren't able to capture a clean screenshot of an individual detail page on the demo store this round (it's listed under capture notes below), so here's what the plugin's own 2.10.0 changelog confirms that record carries: tags you add yourself, a merge tool for when a guest checkout and a registered account turn out to be the same buyer, per-customer order metrics, and a "care digest" that flags who needs attention. Treat that as a documented feature, not a screenshot claim.

The list is exportable to CSV from the Export button in the header, so you can hand a filtered segment — say, every Dormant client — to your email platform or CRM without re-keying anything.

What's the business value of a live client list for your store?

A live Cmsmart client list turns customer follow-up from a once-in-a-while clean-up project into a daily habit, so a WooCommerce print shop, POD brand or B2B supplier closes more open quotes and recovers more dormant revenue with the same staff.

BenefitHow it shows up in your businessKPI to track
Faster quote follow-upOpen quote tab surfaces every pending decision in one place instead of a search through emailDays to close an open quote
Fewer missed win-backsDormant tab plus the Win-back action turns "we should reach out" into a two-click taskReactivated clients per month
Clear VIP treatmentVIP tag on the row tells whoever answers support or sales who they're talking toRepeat order rate among VIP clients
Clean exportable listOne CSV export instead of a manual pull for every campaignTime spent building a mailing list

Rough math for your store: At-risk and Dormant clients × your average order value × the share you realistically expect to reorder after a win-back message = the revenue a focused push this month could recover. Run the same formula on VIP clients to size the upside of a loyalty or early-access offer instead.

How do you set up and use the Cmsmart Clients screen?

Setting up Cmsmart Product Designer's Clients screen takes no configuration: go to WP Admin > Cmsmart > Clients and the list builds itself from the WooCommerce orders, quotes and design activity your store already has.

Cmsmart Product Designer active plugin row in WP Admin Plugins showing version 2.18.0-dev
Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.0-dev, WP Admin > Plugins: confirm the active version before you rely on a specific Clients field.
  1. Confirm you're on a current Cmsmart Product Designer build under WP Admin > Plugins (the Clients/Customer CRM hub shipped in 2.10.0).
  2. Go to WP Admin > Cmsmart > Clients.
  3. Scan the stat cards (Total, Leads, Open quote, New, At-risk, VIP) for a one-glance health check before you dig into any one segment.
  4. Pick a segment tab — Open quotes and Dormant are good starting points for a print shop — to narrow the list to who needs attention today.
  5. Refine with Search, Sort, Channel, Type and Tag, then click Filter (or Reset to clear every filter).
  6. Open a customer's name to review that client's detail record — tags, merged guest/registered identity and per-customer order metrics.
  7. Use the Next column action on a row: Win-back for a Dormant client, Send quote for an Open quote, Thank/upsell for a client who ordered recently.
  8. Select multiple rows and use Bulk actions when you want to message or tag a whole segment instead of one row at a time.
  9. Click Export in the header to download the current filtered view as CSV for your email platform or CRM.

Common mistakes we see:

  • Running Win-back on an entire Dormant segment at once instead of starting with the highest-spend accounts in it.
  • Treating "Guest" as "anonymous" — a guest checkout still carries a full order and design history in the client record.
  • Skipping the Design abandoned tab before a launch; it often holds buyers who got stuck mid-design, not people who changed their mind.
  • Exporting the whole "All" list for every campaign instead of filtering to the segment the message is actually for.

If a just-placed order doesn't show up yet, that's usually timing, not a bug: the client index rebuilds on the order lifecycle rather than instantly on page load, so give it a moment or refresh the screen after the order status updates.

Going further: what Cmsmart builds beyond the Clients screen

Cmsmart Product Designer's Clients screen covers identity resolution, segmentation and one-click actions out of the box; for anything more specific to your workflow, Cmsmart builds it as custom development on top of the same customer data.

The built-in Win-back, Send quote and Thank/upsell buttons start a message you review and send yourself, or send in bulk to a selected group. A few things stores regularly ask us to build on top of that foundation:

  • Automated win-back sequences. Turning a manual Win-back click into a scheduled, multi-step email sequence triggered automatically when a client's segment changes to At-risk or Dormant.
  • ERP/MIS and CRM sync. Pushing Clients data into an external ERP, MIS or CRM in real time through a custom API integration, instead of a manual CSV export.
  • Custom segmentation rules. Scoring clients by product type, print technique or order frequency specific to your catalogue, beyond the built-in lifecycle segments.
  • B2B account hierarchies. Grouping several buyer contacts under one company record for wholesale and multi-seat accounts, with shared order history and a single credit line.
  • Loyalty and reorder incentives. Automatic credit, discount codes or early access tied to the VIP segment.

Delivery follows the same path for all of it: discovery, solution design, build sprints, QA against your live store, launch and ongoing support — see real examples on Cmsmart's project case studies, or the product designer customization service page for scope and pricing shape. Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate plugin to see a print shop customer list in WooCommerce?

No. Cmsmart Product Designer's Clients screen builds the list from the orders, quotes and design activity your WooCommerce store already has — there's nothing extra to install or configure.

Does the Win-back button send an email automatically?

No — it starts a message for you to review and send, for one client or, with Bulk actions, a whole selected group. A fully automated sequence triggered by a segment change is custom development Cmsmart builds on request.

What's the difference between a Lead, a Dormant and an At-risk client?

A Lead is a contact who hasn't placed an order yet (shown under the Leads tab). Dormant and At-risk both describe existing buyers who have gone quiet; the Clients screen separates the two so you can prioritize recent high-value accounts (At-risk) ahead of long-inactive ones (Dormant).

Can I export the Clients list to Mailchimp, Klaviyo or our own CRM?

Yes. The Export button downloads the current filtered view as a CSV file, which any major email platform or CRM can import directly — see WooCommerce's own customer CSV export documentation for how the underlying data lines up.

Are there rules around sending win-back emails?

Yes, for commercial email generally. In the US, messages like win-back and promotional emails must follow the CAN-SPAM Act — accurate sender information, no misleading subject lines, and a working opt-out (see the FCC's CAN-SPAM overview). Cmsmart can build consent tracking and a suppression list into a custom win-back workflow.

Can Cmsmart connect the Clients screen to our ERP or MIS system?

Yes, as custom development — a reliable, monitored API sync between Cmsmart's customer data and an external ERP, MIS or CRM is one of the most common integration requests we build for B2B and print-shop clients.
