Applies to Cmsmart Printing Store 2.0.0 (parent theme Cmsmart Stores 2.0.0) · Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.4 · Updated October 2026. Store Setup v2 installs this preset with real pages already live — the store opens from the first minute, with no WordPress "coming soon" screen.

In short

  • You get a live WooCommerce printing-company storefront — business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, banners, stationery and labels — with Cmsmart Product Designer already wired to a demo product.
  • Store Setup v2 installs the theme, WooCommerce, the sample catalogue and the plugin together, then you spend the first hour on branding, payments, shipping and one real product.
  • It takes about an hour: install (via the installer file or the manual theme files), set your logo and colors, check one demo product's printing options, connect payments and shipping, then run a test order.

The Cmsmart Printing Store turns a printing company WooCommerce store setup into a one-hour job instead of a multi-week build: business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, banners, stationery and labels in one ready-made catalogue. Store Setup v2 installs the theme, sample pages and Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.4 already configured on a demo product, and the store is live from the first minute, never behind a "coming soon" page.

What does it cost a printing company to build a web-to-print website by hand?

Cmsmart shortens the setup cost of a printing website by shipping the storefront, the product designer and the printing options already connected to a demo product, so you review and relabel instead of building each piece from a blank WordPress install.

Most printing companies building a web-to-print store by hand hit the same costs before a single order comes in: theme and plugin shopping, manual page building, printing options wired by hand into product attributes, and no print-ready hand-off to the press.

Put a rough number on it with your own variables: if a generalist build takes your team T hours at a blended hourly rate R, and wiring a product designer and printing options by hand adds S hours, the status quo costs roughly (T + S) × R before the store can take an order. WooCommerce itself is a safe foundation — the platform states it now powers more than four million online stores — but the storefront, designer and printing options still have to be assembled on top of it.

Cmsmart insight: the printing companies we see lose the most time are the ones who pick a generic theme first, only to discover it has no online product designer, then start over with a second plugin.

What does a one-hour store launch look like?

With the Cmsmart Printing Store, a printing company owner can be previewing a live site with their own logo and a configurable business-card product inside an hour, instead of waiting weeks for a developer to assemble the same pieces.

Example scenario. A printing company owner picks the Cmsmart Printing Store, downloads the installer and uploads it to an empty folder on their host. The store is live minutes later with sample pages and Cmsmart Product Designer already active. Over the rest of the hour they swap the logo and colors, open the "Standard Business Cards" demo product to see how paper, finish and printed sides are configured, connect a payment method, and place one test order to confirm a print-ready file comes out. By the end of the hour the storefront is their own, even before the real catalogue goes in.

What is the Cmsmart solution behind the Printing Store preset?

The Cmsmart solution pairs the Cmsmart Printing Store theme with Cmsmart Product Designer and WooCommerce's commerce engine, so a printing company gets branding, a configurable product, payments, shipping and an order dashboard as one connected system instead of separate parts.

Five building blocks make up the preset:

  • Storefront (in the product). Cmsmart Printing Store 2.0.0 on the parent Cmsmart Stores 2.0.0 theme, edited through the Site Editor.
  • Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.4 (in the product). "Design here online" and "upload design," printing options and templates, already enabled on the demo card product.
  • WooCommerce 11.2.1 (in the product). Cart, checkout, payments and shipping zones, pre-wired to the demo catalogue.
  • Cmsmart Overview dashboard (in the product). Revenue, orders, a production queue and AI tools in one screen.
  • Store-specific pricing, ERP sync and new product types (custom development). Anything beyond the demo's paper/finish/printed-sides options — Cmsmart builds this once your catalogue is defined.

The admin side also ships a master AI switch: Background Remover, Image Upscale and AI preflight each toggle on or off, with an audience setting for everyone, members only, or past customers only. See the full line-up on the web-to-print solutions hub.

What business value and KPIs does the Cmsmart Printing Store deliver?

The business value of the Cmsmart Printing Store is time: it compresses store activation from weeks to about an hour, and the KPIs to track are activation time, time to configure a new product, and the share of orders that leave the designer with a print-ready file already attached.

BenefitHow it shows up in your businessKPI to track
Faster activationStore opens live with sample pages and products, not a coming-soon placeholderDays from signup to a live product page
Built-in web-to-print flowDesigner and printing options already wired to a demo product you can copyHours to configure a new designable product
Order visibility from day oneCmsmart Overview shows revenue, orders and a production queue in one screenOrders visible as in-production without opening each one
Print-ready hand-offA print-ready PDF is produced as soon as the buyer clicks ProcessShare of orders reaching the press without a manual re-export

Rough setup-cost worksheet. If a hand-built designer integration normally takes D days at a blended day rate R, and the preset compresses that to about an hour, the time you avoid is roughly D days × R — multiplied by however many product lines you would otherwise wire up one at a time.

Next to a generic WooCommerce theme, the gap is mostly in what already exists on day one:

How do you complete a printing company WooCommerce store setup in one hour?

Setting up the Cmsmart Printing Store takes about an hour once WordPress is installed: you configure branding, check one demo product's designer and printing options, connect payments and shipping, then confirm a print-ready file comes out of a test order.

Install first: the Cmsmart Printing Store has to go on your host before the steps below apply — either the one-file installer (10 minutes) or the manual theme files (30 minutes), both covered in the install hub. The rest of this guide assumes WordPress, WooCommerce and the designer are already live, as shown below.

Branding: logo, colors, header and footer

  1. Open Appearance › Editor › Patterns › Template Parts and replace the Site Logo block in the header, then update the menu labels to match your product range.
  2. Edit the footer template part for your real address, phone number and policy links, and rename "About Us" and "Corporate" columns if your business uses different terms.

Pages, menus and the sample catalogue

  1. Review the imported pages under Pages › All Pages — Home, Shop, Cart, Checkout, My Account, About, Contact, FAQ, Design Templates and the designer's own pages are already published.
  2. Treat the products you see as a sample catalogue: the demo images, prices and descriptions are placeholders you will replace, not your real range.

Products and the Cmsmart Product Designer tab

More designer walkthroughs are in the user guides index.

  1. Open the "Standard Business Cards" demo product and scroll to the NBD options box: Design Editor Setting, Printing Option, Product Builder, Request Quote, Design Guideline, Printing FAQ and Printing Info Tab.
  2. In Design Editor Setting, check the Front/Back design areas, the DPI (300 by default) and the dimensions unit — these decide how a buyer's design is sized for print.
  3. Click Start Design on the live product page to confirm the designer opens with the product's template and toolbar (Templates, Text, Cliparts, Photos, Elements, Layers).
  4. Repeat the check on a phone: the mobile design area and toolbar should load the same way at the bottom of the screen.

Payments and shipping

  1. Open WooCommerce › Settings › Payments and install at least one method — WooCommerce Payments or PayPal Payments, or Take offline payments while you test.
  2. Open WooCommerce › Settings › Shipping and check the shipping zones Store Setup v2 created, then add or edit rates for your own delivery area.

Store address, currency and taxes

  1. Open WooCommerce › Settings › General and replace the placeholder store address with your real one, then confirm selling locations and currency — these also drive your tax and shipping rates, as WooCommerce's own settings documentation explains.

Test order checklist

  1. Place one order as a guest: pick the demo product, design or upload artwork, and complete checkout with a test payment method.
  2. Open Cmsmart › Overview and confirm the order appears in Orders (30d) and "In production."
  3. Open the order and click Process (or Create PDF) to confirm a print-ready PDF is generated.
  4. Mark the order complete and confirm the status updates on both the order list and the dashboard.

Go-live checklist

  • Remove the sample data from Cmsmart › Store Setup once your own products are loaded.
  • Load your real product range, copying the printing-option structure from the demo card product.
  • Switch from a test payment method to a live one and confirm shipping zones match where you deliver.
  • Activate your license key on your live domain so the store keeps running past the trial.

What should a printing company customize beyond the demo?

Beyond the demo catalogue, Cmsmart gives a printing company a Request Quote tab for jobs you would rather price by hand, a Product Builder tab for configurable bundles, and per-tool AI controls — so the parts of the business that do not fit a flat price still run through the same store.

  • Use the Request Quote tab next to Printing Option when a bulk or non-standard job should go to your sales team instead of straight through checkout.
  • Build separate printing-option sets per category — business cards, flyers, posters and labels rarely share the same paper stocks.
  • Set the AI tools audience (Background Remover, Upscale, Preflight) before you publicize them.
  • Check the mobile design area on your own device for every product category you add.

Going further: what can Cmsmart build on top of the Printing Store?

Cmsmart builds custom development on top of the Printing Store preset for anything the defaults do not cover — bespoke pricing rules, ERP connections or new product types — so the preset is a starting point, not a ceiling, for a growing printing business.

Common requests once a printing company has the preset live:

  • Wholesale and repeat-client pricing. Net pricing or quantity-break rules beyond a flat per-product price.
  • ERP or MIS integration. Pushing paid orders straight into production-scheduling software instead of re-keying them.
  • New configurable product types. Gang-sheet layouts or packaging dielines built on top of the Product Builder tab.
  • Multi-location rollout. Cloning the preset across storefronts with shared pricing and branding.
  • Catalogue and order migration. Moving an existing printing website's products and history into the new store.

Cmsmart delivers this like any project: discovery, solution design, build sprints, QA and launch, then support — see the delivery model on ecommerce-projects. For the preset install itself, the matching service is store preset installation and demo import.

Why work with Cmsmart for your printing store?

Cmsmart has built ecommerce and web-to-print stores since 2012 as a Netbase JSC division, with thousands of client projects delivered and a published Trustpilot rating, so a printing company adopting the preset is building on a track record, not a brand-new vendor.

Cmsmart has delivered more than 6,300 client projects and over 4,600 completed since 2012, with more than 1,800 stores live today in 80+ countries, alongside a Trustpilot rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 404 reviews. One reviewer running a printing business put it this way: "ideal solution for printing companies. the nbdesigner gives you many options to offer your products, a very professional tool indeed" — Dimitris, Trustpilot review.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my own products instead of the demo catalogue?

Yes. Replace the demo products with your own business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, banners, stationery or label products, copying the NBD options from the demo as a starting point.

Which plan activates the Cmsmart Printing Store?

The store is free to set up, but a Fullstore license activates it, billed annually with a free 30-day trial key — see current pricing on Cmsmart's pricing page.

Can I change the colors and logo without touching code?

Yes. The header and footer are template parts in the WordPress Site Editor, edited visually — see the customization guide for more.

Do I still need to install Cmsmart Product Designer separately?

No. The preset bundles Cmsmart Product Designer 2.18.4 and activates it on the demo product automatically; you configure it product by product as you add your own range.

Can customers upload their own print-ready file instead of designing online?

Yes. The demo product enables both: "Design here online" opens the template editor, and "Upload Design" accepts a buyer's own PDF, JPG or PNG file.

What happens to the sample data when I go live?

Remove it from Cmsmart › Store Setup once your real catalogue is loaded.
